Collége

So I survived my first week of school! I'm writing this a little bit later than I intended to, because I was with other AFSers in St Brieuc all weekend. It was great to hear about other people's experiences! Anyways, my first week of school has left me exhausted and I'm still trying to keep up. I have to be at the bus stop at 7:30 am and school ends at 4:50, so it's a longer day than I'm used to. Mondays are the hardest because (well, first of all because it's Monday) and secondly because we begin with 2 hours of history followed by 2 hours of French. (Which is crazy hard.) But my host sister has been incredibly kind and helpful. She lets me copy her notes and introduced me to her friends. They're great as well, and help me out whenever they notice I'm confused. The other classes I'm taking are Spanish, English (totally rad), math (not rad), physics/chemistry, technology, "P.E." (They call it "sport." Wednesdays we play basketball and Fridays we play volleyball.) and music. The school is small (only 300 people) and there's a big courtyard where people hang out in between classes. There are lots of breaks throughout the day. It's nice because it gives me a chance to talk to people and make mistakes with my French in a non-classroom setting. So yeah, that's the update! I'll be back soon, with pictures of some of the places I've visited so far.
